Encephalopathy essentials for clinical documentation integrity is intended to identify the differences between toxic and metabolic encephalopathy, review the signs, symptoms, and underlying causes, and apply the content to clinical documentation integrity review and compliant query practice.
The education covers the physiologic needs for normal neuronal function. Also included are the clinical indicators, documentation needs, and compliant query practice for delirium and encephalopathy with descriptions of DSM vs. ICD-10, toxic encephalopathy, and finally, metabolic encephalopathy caused by Infection, liver disease, and hypoxia.
