The education covers the new COVID-19 codes for under immunization status and the new coding guideline for these codes.
Education regarding coding and documentation for procedures performed on a continuous vessel, hemoperitoneum, and bulging disc is followed by a clarification of the “with” coding convention and HIV documentation.
Finally, the importance of PCS coding for clinical documentation specialists is discussed, with available resources the clinical documentation specialist can use to assist with PCS coding, the importance of coding and CDI collaboration, and a discussion of two of the more difficult coding clinic questions regarding use of the root operation supplementation.
